About Solid Office Solutions
Solid Office Solutions began in 2005 when Sharon Sweeting
realized that people other than her mother could benefit from her
computer knowledge and expertise.
Sharon began her computer career with hand-me-down computers
in the early 1980s. She remembers her first computer as having
two 5 1/4 inch floppy drives and no hard drives. She then went on to
formalize her computer education at Wake Technical Community
College, receiving an Associates Degree in Microcomputer
Systems Technology. She found that she had an affinity for all
things "Office" related and went on to become an Expert Microsoft
Office User Specialist and a Microsoft Authorized Instructor.
Sharon began her teaching career when she was asked to return
to Wake Tech upon her graduation in 1997 and fill in for a teacher
who left in mid-semester. The rest, as they say, was history.
Since graduation from Wake Tech, Sharon has taught classes at
both Wake Tech and Johnston Community College, mostly in the
Continuing Education Division. Sharon has found that she has the
gift of helping people become comfortable with their technology.
